Ever since those fitted carpets came out of the market, people rarely pay attention to the wooden flooring which holds them. Most floors are designed in placed for sanding. Although it is such a hard and tedious job to sand floors, some people love doing them.

There are quite a number of species of wood that undergo a certain process which are later fabricated into wood flooring. Today, modern wooden flooring comes pre-finished in the factory, and is often polyurethane-finished and metal-oxide finished, which increase wear and tear of the hardwood floor. Hardwood flooring is also very susceptible to the effects of temperature changes in its surroundings and moisture, which causes wooden flooring to expand or contract in width.
Wooden flooring needs protection and maintenance for it to last. Wooden floor treatments vary on different types of floors. As we all know, bad practices of floor cleaning are some of the causes of accidents. For safety, it is very important not to leave the floors slightly wet after mopping.
